Oregon Bride Spring 2016

What an honor it is to be featured on the cover of Oregon Bride’s Spring/Summer 2016 issue! Our styled shoot received 8 pages of love, in addition to the cover, in the newest magazine, which is on stands today.

Vision

Christin Rose, of Riv & Rose Photography approached Kelsey in late summer, asking if she would collaborate to design, style and execute the shoot. Kelsey knew this was an experience in itself and immediately said YES! “We get each other. It makes working on shoots and weddings unbelievable,” Kelsey said. The task was to create a pre-wedding bridesmaid dinner. Kelsey and Christin wanted Portland to see something different, something relatable and to curate a team of vendors who they felt confident would make this vision come to life. Kelsey immediately visualized an intimate dinner party that was light, airy, playful and personal.  Kelsey said, “We designed it to give readers the feeling of being surrounded by their best friends; the ones who bring out the best of us during the moments in our lives that mean the most.”

Vendor Selection

The shoot was complete with a list of all star vendors. Kelsey’s tactic for hand picking the vendors for the shoot and for all the weddings she designs is by, “Selecting vendors who we have built close relationships with and who are knowledgeable in their own craft. We build a team who we know will educate us in their own expertise through the process of designing a shoot or wedding.” Kelsey bousted, “I am so confident working with this team. These people are so talented, so inspiring and that’s why I knew this shoot would be something special; something different.”

On the Shoot

When creating a stylized shoot, you have a few hours to capture a vision. Everyone is running around, grabbing the items they need in each shot and trying to make everything look amazing. On getting it all right Kelsey explained, “Christin, Riv and I really had the ability to control all moving parts on the shoot and we knew we had one shot to do it right. And because of this team; we did.”

Favorite Part

Kelsey says the best part of this shoot was working with Christin and Riv. She explained that these photographers see things that others don’t; “They capture moments and ideas through a lens that is indescribable when you see the final images. Their chemistry is what makes their product magical.”
