Last Friday I had the pleasure of joining many other wedding gown enthused women for the Grand Re-Opening of The English Department.

I’m simply in love with The English Department and was lucky enough to find my gown here, during a Jenny Yoo trunk show. Their new space is so picturesque it makes me want to go through the whole dress shopping experience all over again.

The English Department merged with Xtabay, their sister company’s vintage bridal space, earlier this month. The stunning new space, located in the SE Clinton neighborhood, is more than double the size and still carries designer gowns made to order, and now a small selection of vintage gowns as well.

Accessories from Elizabeth Bower, ranging from sashes to tiaras fill ornate gold rimmed glass cases. Annie Ekstroms laced trimmed veils line their floral wallpaper. Oh how lace veils make me swoon. Their new space screams elegance with vintage charm.

The Grand Re-Opening party was complete with our friends from Mint & Mirth serving up cocktails and champagne, Petunias sweet treats and gorgeous floral arrangements from Pistil & Stamen.

The English Department is now by appointment only, so make sure to give them a call in advance to meet with one of their darling wedding gown specialists.
