Awaiting the Proposal

As these long summer days come to a close and you are feeling more in love with your partner than ever, you begin to realize that proposal you thought was happening this summer (insert specific proposal fantasy here) may be a few more months out. Been there. Done that. But try not to worry, this does not mean your summer 2017 wedding dreams are squashed. Quite the contrary actually; did you know that the sweet spot for planning a wedding is 6 months? So sit back, relax and enjoy these last months of being blissfully unengaged. Enjoy not having to plan anything, enjoy your pre-wedding obsessed family and the time left where you and your partner can talk about all the many life topics which do not surround a wedding! Trust me, once you are engaged that is all you will want to talk about.

Find some solace in the fact that likely (very likely actually) your proposal is coming in December. Did you know that proposals are most likely to happen during the holidays? A whopping 40% or more of proposals happen during the Christmas season, according to UK researchers. Which means . . . your December proposal leaves you a perfect 6-9 months to plan your summer wedding. Alas, life regains balance.

Everyone will tell you there is no rush to get engaged, and of course post marriage you do finally realize that, but when you are crazy in love with the person you want to spend the rest of your life with, nothing is more exciting than getting that ring of commitment. And when that proposal does happen, there is truly nothing better. It will happen and there is so much joy leading up to it too!

Love,

Danielle
