Winter Wedding in Portland, Oregon

Why more couple’s don’t ponder the idea of a winter wedding in the Pacific Northwest still remains a mystery to me. Although the sun may set earlier than the long summer days, the brisk air, warm tones and cozy nights are truly some of my favorite.

As we fill our calendars with holiday gatherings, one of the greatest gifts is to celebrate love in an already joyful time of year and Natasha and Albert did just that.

December 8th greeted us with a cold morning, but bright blue skies at The Porter Portland, where Natasha spent her day surrounded by loved ones and her glam team, Makeup by Whit. I was fortunate enough to spend some time with Natasha that morning as installations were happening at The Evergreen. It was one of my most cherished mornings with a client, turned friend: we chatted, we laughed, we ate, we drank (coffee), and had this moment where we took a deep breath because for me it would soon be over, and for Natasha, it was just the beginning. The beginning of her new chapter with Albert, and the end of a planning era for us, which always leaves a mark.

I stood with an anxious groom behind closed doors as we talked about how beautiful Natasha looked, while she fluffed her bouquet (Brier & Ivy) and tucked her hair behind her ear one last time before their first look, perfectly captured by Olivia Strohm and SLF Weddings. Draped in a beautiful shawl, they were all smiles as they held each other tight with cool temperatures.

Taking a less traditional approach to their reception, after a beautiful ceremony, a curated spread of breakfast favorites made their way to the custom menu provided by Chefstable. Guests enjoyed an amazing experience, set with beautiful lounge areas, guest seating and a dance floor you didn’t want to miss, illuminated with their monogram, designed by Briar & Brambles Paper Co.

Cheers to Natasha and Albert as they not only celebrate the beginning of their marriage but to their new adventure in Chicago! You will be missed!

Love,

Kelsey
