Meet the (real) Timberlake’s!

With the sun (officially?) shining in the Pacific Northwest, and celebrating love in every capacity this month, it’s taking us back to Alex and Mel’s wedding at Oakwood Gardens on that hot summer day. A special one to say the least because Alex is Kelsey’s sister. So let’s take a walk down memory lane together…

One of our favorite aspects of the planning process was how intentional the two of them were at every touch point. It was really about their community, and what they mean to them. There were heartfelt stories shared, memories surfaced from years past, and tears shed for the journey that landed them to their wedding day, in a same sex marriage.

The color palette of sage green, vanilla, taupe, and black elevated the already stunning grounds into a romantic, candlelight garden. The ceremony featured an iron rod gazebo adorned with wild greenery vines, creating a perfectly imperfect altar by Swoon Floral Design. White orchids peeked from Mel’s bouquet to honor her Filipino heritage, and if you looked close enough, a hibiscus was tucked so neatly into Alex’s to represent her birth state, Hawaii.

During cocktail hour, guests enjoyed an interactive guest book displayed as a vintage rotary phone, recording warm wishes that was later turned into a keepsake vinyl for their love of music.

As guests took their seats for dinner, Alex greeted everyone with a heartfelt welcome speech, which was dedicated to their ‘little bug,’ Kelsey and J.R.’s son, Maddox (they now share an anniversary and birthday). The catch? Guests were welcomed to the Bluey theme song, and then transitioned into singing happy birthday to celebrate the big 1 with a smash cake by Dream Cakes. A holiday that will always be special to the three of them for years to come.

We continued to see nods to Mel’s Filipino heritage with Art of Catering serving a beautiful, family-style dinner breaking bread from the centerpieces (literally) and indulging in a traditional pancit recipe as a main course. It was an experience that is not often forgotten.

The dining experience featured a diverse bread collection, including Filipino favorites like pandesal and Spanish sweet bread, alongside French pain d’épi baguettes. This multicultural twist added to a fun way to display a homage to the bride Mel’s heritage.

Outside, the Fifty Licks ice cream truck served frozen delights for a sweet break for guests as the night ended.

As we wrapped up this incredible evening, the memories created will forever hold a special place in the hearts of all who attended, ensuring it was a celebration to remember for both them and our team.

Wishing you a wonderful month celebrating love!

Cheers,

Courtney
